Free SamplesUV Absorber 531 can protect film, wood-plastic composite materials, or other plastics from the sun's harmful rays. It works by soaking up ultraviolet (UV) light before it can damage your materials. Because it is non-toxic and blends easily with many types of plastic, it is a top choice for products that need to stay strong and look new while sitting outdoors.

Stops Sun Damage: Ultraviolet absorber 531 absorbs Ultraviolet light (240-340nm), preventing plastics from becoming weak, cracking, or breaking.
Prevents Fading: UV 531's light color ensures that your products keep their original look without unwanted tinting.
Low Migration: Once mixed, it stays inside the plastic and doesn't "leak" out, providing long-lasting protection.
Easy Processing: It blends smoothly into your production line, making manufacturing easier and more stable.

UV Absorber 531 is widely used in materials like PE, PVC, PP, and PU for:
Geomembranes & Functional Films: Ensures liners and covers stay leak-proof and durable.
Artificial Turf: Keeps synthetic grass green and soft for years.
Wood-Plastic Composites: Protects outdoor decking and fencing from the weather.
Plastic Tracks & Sports Flooring: Maintains the bounce and safety of athletic surfaces.
Rotational Moldings: Ideal for large outdoor containers, tanks, and equipment.
Light Absorber 531 is a 2-hydroxybenzophenone-based UV absorber. This product significantly improves the weather resistance of clear coatings under UV (sunlight) exposure (e.g., preventing fading, cracking, gloss reduction, and loss of adhesion). Its outdoor performance can be further enhanced when used in combination with hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) (e.g., Tinuvin 292 or Tinuvin 123).
High cost-effectiveness, excellent solubility, broad compatibility, low yellowing, high absorption rate in the UV-B band, and protection of coatings from degradation caused by sunlight exposure, such as fading, cracking, and loss of adhesion.
It primarily absorbs UV light in the 240-340nm wavelength range. Therefore, it is also very effective in preventing degradation and cracking of polymers (e.g., PE, PP) due to exposure to medium- and short-wave UV light.
Ultraviolet light absorber 531 has a low melting point (47-49°C) and melts and disperses easily in resins. Its 5% thermogravimetric temperature is 202°C, making it suitable for most medium- and low-temperature processing techniques.
Probably not. It is a light yellow powder with extremely high transmittance (500nm ≥ 95.0%), which allows it to maintain its color and prevent the formulation from yellowing or fading.
Specifications: 25L, 200L, or 1000L (IBC) tonnes.
Storage Tips: Store in a cool, dry place (between 10°C and 30°C).
Important Note: Do not freeze. When sealed and stored at a suitable temperature, it can be kept fresh for one year.
